The innovative company SONGHEART was founded by well known Canadian music figures Scotty James and Johnny Iannou. Scotty James is an award-winning singer-songwriter who won a Canadian Radio Music Award in 2013, hit the Billboard Charts, and amassed millions of streams across social media. Before Scotty broke into the music industry as an independent musician, he met his former music manager Johnny Ioannou in a unique way. Scotty went door-to-door serenading people on their front porches to raise money for his first album, and that’s how Johnny discovered him. Johnny signed him to a management deal and funded his first CD, and the song that Scotty sang to Johnny, “Wanna Be Loved”, charted #20 on the Billboard charts and was the 49th most played song in Canada. Their success was attributed to their relentless work ethic and creative ability to do things a little differently. But when the pandemic hit, the two parted ways but remained close friends. Out of necessity, Scotty began writing custom wedding songs to support his career while living in Nashville. When the two reunited and talked over dinner, they saw the market potential for creating personalized songs, not just for weddings but all occasions, thus inspiring Songheart. The rest is history.
